Super Bowl Season is Here – But Should Your Brand Join the Game?

Football fever is in the air as the Eagles and Chiefs get ready to battle it out in NOLA. And while I’m counting down the days (Go Eagles!), I can’t help but think about those famous Super Bowl commercials. You know, the ones that everyone talks about the next day? But here’s the million-dollar question – or should I say seven-million-dollar question – are they really worth it in 2025? Let’s talk about some numbers.

Forbes tells us that a 30-second spot this year costs a whopping $7 million. Just for airtime! While last year’s Super Bowl brought in a record 123.7 million viewers, here’s the kicker: out of 60+ brands that advertised, only 24 saw any real bump in awareness the following week (thanks for the data, YouGov). Even more eye-opening? Research from Analytic Partners shows these ads typically deliver 20-50% lower ROI than other marketing investments.

Here’s the good news – you don’t need to drop $7 million to make a splash.

Digital advertising is changing the game, especially for B2B brands.

Think about it:

Instead of shouting to everyone, you can whisper to exactly the right people. LinkedIn, Google, and other platforms let you target specific decision-makers when they’re actually looking for solutions like yours. Plus, you can track everything in real time and adjust as you go. Try doing that with a Super Bowl ad!

If you’re running a B2B tech, SaaS, finance, or healthcare company, your marketing dollars probably work harder in the digital space, enabling you to:

  • Target specific accounts (hello, ABM!)
  • Track actual results (not just viewer numbers)
  • Spread your budget across the year
  • Test and optimize as you go

While Super Bowl ads might be great for making a big splash (and entertaining us during snack breaks), most B2B brands will score bigger wins with strategic digital campaigns.
