Fifteen4 Raises Funds to Create Two Girls in the Game Scholarships

It was the kind of night that will live on in our hearts for a long time. On Friday, October 4th, Fifteen4 sent a team of chefs to City Seeds to participate in Cook-Off for a Cause: Battle of the Agencies. The event was planned as an Iron Chef-style competition, pitting two agencies against each other. Why? To support Girls in the Game. Girls in the Game helps young women find their voice, discover strengths, and lead with confidence through sports, health, and leadership programs.

The secret ingredient? Tuna. Time limit? 2 hours. Requirement: make one dish. Naturally, The Fiery Five from Fifteen4 over-delivered with tuna ceviche tacos, tuna stir fry, teriyaki black sesame-encrusted tuna, perfectly cooked rice, and churros.

Sure, we may have lost the Cook-Off:

but our team also brought the equivalent of Thanksgiving to the judging table:

Executive Sous Chef Denny judging the dishes Fifteen4 created.

Fifteen4 is immensely proud to announce that we raised over $1,000 as a part of our participation in Cook-Off for a Cause: Battle of the Agencies. This donation will fund two named scholarships, which allows three high school girls to participate in Girls in the Game’s Teen Squad program for a full year. For each of those girls, many of whom are first-generation college hopefuls, that’s a huge deal.

The competition was fierce, but everyone had a great time!

Special thanks to Julia and Katie for organizing the event!

Suffice it to say, everyone in attendance went home with full bellies and warm hearts. Cheers to our team for turning out some fantastic dishes and cheers to Mindgrub for being great competitors!
