Overview

The Animator/Motion Graphics Designer is responsible for collaborating with others to create high-level animation work for our various clients within a variety of projects, styles, and techniques. Highly efficient, communicative and organized, they can transition in and out of projects smoothly and present a high level of professionalism and originality. This position works directly with the Director of Live Action and Animation to ensure all projects are executed within company quality standards, on time and within budget.

Job Responsibilities

  • Design, rig, and animate characters, illustrations, graphs, typography, and other graphic elements
  • Enhance live-action videos with engaging animations that help drive the narrative
  • Collaborate with designers, editors, and project managers on video, animation, design, and web projects
  • See projects through from the storyboard stage to final animation
  • Continue to learn new tools and techniques that can be applied to your animations, typography, composition, and storytelling abilities

Required Skills

  • 3+ years professional experience designing and/or conceptualizing animations for big brands
  • Prior experience at an advertising agency, production company, or entertainment company a plus
  • A professional level knowledge of industry standard design/animation software and tools including Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects, Cinema 4D, and Blender
  • Experience working with various design styles from illustrative, photo-real to highly stylized
  • Demonstrated creative and technical skills in 3D animation and competency in all areas of 3D including modeling, texturing, lighting, effects animation is preferred
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Must be adept at problem solving and thinking quick on his/her feet
  • Strong Type and design skills
  • Openness to direction, mentoring, and training to improve skills

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision; distance vision; peripheral vision; depth perception; ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

  • Moderate noise (i.e. business office with computes, phone, printers, and light traffic)
  • Ability to work in a confined area
  • Ability to sit at a computer terminal for an extended period of time
  • Ability to travel as needed
  • Currently a hybrid position, the candidate is expected to work in-office at least three times per week. Our office is located at 3618 Falls Road, Suite #200, Baltimore, MD 21211
